En dos ocasiones he tenido la mala suerte de perder por completo el aceite del motor en vuelo, con sus respectivas paradas de motor. Una situación nada agradable ni recomendable, y casualmente, ninguna de las dos las podría haber previsto o anticipado para evitarlas.
La cantidad de aceite se revisa siempre antes del vuelo, comprobando que el consumo de aceite estimado esté cubierto para el vuelo que vamos a realizar, esto se hace desde el ultraligero al avión de aerolínea, sin excusa posible.
En la revisión exterior comprobamos las posibles pérdidas de líquido y, si es posible descapotar el motor, también hacemos un chequeo sobre el circuito en sí.
Yo todo eso lo hice… y ni por esas!
Perder el aceite en vuelo en dos ocasiones
En la primera ocasión, el tubo que habían instalado para el circuito de aceite del ultraligero (de construcción amateur) no soportaba las altas temperaturas del líquido. Y literalmente, se deshizo… sobreviví casi de milagro.
La segunda ocasión ocurrió en una Cessna 172, con su mantenimiento firmado y estandarizado. Un manguito del aceite no estaba correctamente agarrado y se soltó en vuelo. Tan solo unos meses después de su instalación…! Mala suerte supongo.
Éste evento ocurrió casi justo un mes del anterior y por suerte alguien desde tierra me avisó y pude tomar tierra con seguridad, pero con el motor parado, aun así… motor a la basura.
Buscando en internet…
En internet puedes encontrar casos de pilotos que han vivido experiencias similares en vuelo. Este que destacamos olvidó poner el tapón del aceite después de rellenar el depósito. Los pequeños despistes pueden provocar situaciones complejas en vuelo.
